I am feeling excited as I exit from Tanjong Pagar MRT station and walk towards Twins, the latest Korean fried chicken joint in Singapore. I have read many positive online reviews about the restaurant and can’t wait to try it out myself.

Ambience
Twins Korean Restaurant InteriorAfter a short ten-minute walk in the cool evening air, I spot the neon signboard of Twins. Upon approaching the entrance, a staff spots us and promptly leads us to a table. The restaurant exudes a chic industrial-themed vibe with its concrete walls, wooden furnishings and metal chairs, complete with rustic tungsten lamps. On the whole, Twins is a trendy and casual joint where diners can comfortably indulge in Korean fried chicken.

Incidentally, the restaurant is opened by a pair of tall good-looking Korean twin chefs, which explains the restaurant’s name.

We look through the menu and quickly order our items.

Seafood Pancake ($20)
Seafood Pancake - Twins Korean RestaurantFirst to arrive is the Seafood Pancake ($20). We simply love the Korean-style pancake, so we could not resist ordering this dish when we saw it on Twins’ menu. I use my fork to pick up a slice of pancake, dip it in the Korean sweet sauce, and eagerly put the pancake-goodness into my gaping mouth.

Not too bad!

Twins’ seafood pancake definitely meets my expectations. It is savoury with a nice texture, and the seafood is fresh and delicious. I especially enjoy the prawns which taste fresh, thick, and succulent. The portion is a little too big for two persons, and I stop eating after two slices because I want to save stomach space for the highlight of the night.

Soy & Garlic Chicken Wing ($15)

Woohoo! I am in Korean fried chicken heaven!

I have tasted many Korean fried chicken before but I must say Twins’ fried chicken definitely stands out from the pack. The sauce is savoury without being overwhelming, and I simply can’t get enough of it. But what makes Twins’ chicken wings stand out is their super fresh and tender chicken meat. Most Korean fried chicken restaurants place a lot of emphasis on the Korean fried chicken sauce and marination, but I can tell Twins has put in effort to ensure that the chicken meat itself tastes equally awesome too. The meat is cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of tenderness and a wonderfully smooth texture.

Love it!

In fact, I like it so much that I can’t help but make a cliche comment to the girlfriend, “This is finger-licking good lah!”.

Conclusion: Finger-Licking Good Lah!

We leave Twins feeling completely satisfied. We are glad to have discovered this fantastic Korean fried chicken joint. If the twin chefs continue to maintain their awesome standards, I’m pretty sure this will become one of the most popular Korean fried chicken joints in Singapore. We’ll be back!
