Recently, you might have seen Hai Chi Jia Suan La Fen 嗨吃家酸辣粉 popping up all over your Instagram feed. I decided to check out this trending snack for myself and I’ve got to say it was worth the hype!

Hai Chi Jia 嗨吃家 is a convenience food company based in the Henan province of China. They specialise in instant noodles snacks.
Other than selling in China, the company also exports to many other countries like Italy, Russia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

The company’s signature product is the Hai Chi Jia Suan La Fen 嗨吃家酸辣粉, which translates to “Sour and Spicy Noodles”.
It comes in a nifty brown cardboard packaging, and has an expiration period of 10 months.
The mala broth was numbingly-spicy, savoury, vinegary, and extremely addictive. The vermicelli noodles were bouncy and chewy with just the right amount of bite.
It was so satisfying to slurp up the noodles which had absorbed all the goodness of the broth!
The noodles came with some instant vegetables and crunchy peanuts too.

Personally, I did not find the noodles to be overly spicy, but that’s because I enjoy eating spicy food. You can add less chilli oil and paste if you wish.
The noodles is labelled as “清真”, which means that it is Halal. Therefore, Muslims can enjoy this great snack too.
And in case you’re wondering, the man on the packaging is Bobby Yip, a well-known veteran Hong Kong actor.

The Hai Chi Jia Suan La Fen are sold in cartons of six. There are four ways to buy this snack in Singapore.
1. Taobao – You can buy directly from Taobao, where most stores are selling the noodles for just CNY39.90 (about SGD8, excluding shipping fee).
2. Local Sellers – It is also possible to buy from Ezbuy, Lazada, Shopee, Qoo10, and Carousell, but you will have to pay more due to the middleman fee. Most of these stores are selling the noodles for around SGD19.90 (excluding courier fee), except for Ezbuy where you can find prices as low as $12.
3. Social Media Platforms – Do a search for “Hai Chi Jia” on Instagram / Facebook and you will see a slew of accounts selling this trending snack.
4. Sheng Siong – According to one website I came across, Hai Chi Jia Suan La Fen is available at Sheng Siong supermarkets. I’m not sure if this is accurate though.
