In this article, I will be showing you exactly how to get to The Mall Luxury Outlets from Florence, Italy. This luxury outlet hub is located in Leccio, within the Tuscany region. It is just 35 kilometres away from Florence, which is Tuscany’s capital city. There are several ways to get here from Florence, but the best way is take The Mall’s “Direct Bus” (see Method 1 below). The wife and I took this bus, and it was a very fast and comfortable ride.
Method 1: By Direct Bus
Our ticket
Entrance of Busitalia bus station (right side of picture), pickup point for The Mall’s Direct Bus in Florence.
The Mall’s bus stop, located right outside the Gucci store
Comfy bus interior. Picture was taken on the second floor
The Direct Bus has a cool glass roof
USB charging points below the seats
As mentioned earlier, the best method is to simply use The Mall’s official bus service, known as the Direct Bus.
The Direct Bus leaves from the Busitalia bus station, which is a short three-minute walk from the Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station in Florence.
The bus ticket costs 7 Euro for a one-way trip, and 13 Euro for a round-trip. Prices for children under 12 are 3.50 Euro (one way trip) and 6.50 Euro (round trip). Children under 4 take the bus for free.
You can buy the ticket online in advance or on the bus itself. If you buy online, you get to skip the queue and board the bus immediately.
Make sure you go to the pickup point early because when we reached at 8.45am for the 8.50am bus, the bus was already fully packed. Luckily, we managed to get the last two seats, located all the way at the back on the second floor.
The ride takes about 50 minutes, though the duration may vary a little depending on traffic conditions. For us, we took the 8.50am bus and reached The Mall at about 9.40am.
Taking The Mall’s Direct Bus was a hassle-free experience! We bought the tickets on the bus. The two-storey bus had very comfy seats, and the air-conditioning worked great. The bus even had a pretty glass roof which was nice.
I saw two USB charging points below my seat. There was supposed to be free WiFi onboard but unfortunately I couldn’t connect to it. I didn’t see any toilet on the bus.
After a pleasant 50-minute ride where we got to enjoy great views of the lush Tuscany landscape, we reached The Mall Luxury Outlets!
To get back to Florence, you can board the bus again from The Mall’s bus stop (just outside the Gucci store).
You can check out the Direct Bus schedule below (updated as of 22 April 2019). It runs daily and on public holidays.

Method 2: By Shuttle Bus
If you are willing to pay a premium (a rather significant premium, if I might say so), for extra comfort and convenience, you can take The Mall’s Shuttle Bus service.
This premium 7-seater shuttle bus picks you up directly from your hotel in Florence city centre. For the return trip, the shuttle bus will also drop you off at your hotel, or at any other requested spot within the city centre.
The shuttle bus costs 35 Euro for a round trip (per person). The price is the same even if you only take it one way. The ride will take around 50 minutes.
Below is the shuttle bus daily schedule as of 22 April 2019. It runs on public holidays too.

Method 3: By Firenzi Servizi Bus
Firenzi Servizi Bus sign at The Mall’s bus stop
While researching on alternative ways to get to The Mall, I came across the Firenzi Servizi Bus. This is another bus service that brings you from Firenze SMN Station directly to The Mall.
It is cheaper than The Mall’s Direct Bus, costing 5 Euro for a one-way trip and 10 Euro for a round trip. Children under 6 years old ride for free.
Passengers get to enjoy free WiFi and drinks.
I didn’t take this bus because the website’s directions to the pick up point in Florence seemed rather complicated.
However, this could be a good option to get back to Florence from The Mall. For example, if The Mall’s Direct Bus is full, or if you wish to go back at a time when the Direct Bus is not available, you could take the Firenzi Servizi Bus instead.
This bus shares the same bus stop as The Mall’s Direct Bus in The Mall. It is pretty easy to spot the bus: it is a white bus with “5€” printed prominently on the side. Check out its picture above.
The Firenzi Servizi Bus schedule is below (updated as of 22 April 2019). It runs daily and on public holidays too.

Method 4: By Train
Most people are not aware of this, but it is actually possible to get to The Mall by train.
First, take the train to Rignano Sull’Arno-Reggello Station. If you are taking the train from Firenze Santa Maria Novella station, it will take about 35 minutes and cost 3.60 Euro.
Once you reach the station, there will be taxis waiting to take you to The Mall. The taxi ride will take around 5 minutes.
Method 5: By Car
Lastly, it is also possible to drive to The Mall. The luxury outlet hub is about 35 kilometres from Florence, and the car ride should take about 40 minutes. I saw a large car park with many cars at The Mall.
However, I do not recommend using this method because the cost of renting a car or driver will probably erase any savings you get from The Mall.
Driving is a viable option only if you are staying in the Tuscany region for three or four days, and already has a car rented. You could then visit The Mall as part of your trip.
Conclusion
There are several ways to get to The Mall, but taking The Mall’s Direct Bus (see Method 1 above) is the best way. We took the bus and it was very fast, affordable, and comfortable. The wife and I really enjoyed the ride!
