During our recent trip from Singapore to Malaysia (Genting Highlands), we chartered a private transport from Kukup Hub. It was a great experience and this is our full review of the company.
Kukup Hub
Kukup Hub is a tour agency that provides tour packages, accommodations, and transport. The company specialises in tours for Kukup (hence its name), a serene fishing village in nearby Johor.
However, the company also provide tour services for other parts of Malaysia. I booked a private minibus through them recently for my family trip from Singapore to Genting Highlands.
Great Service!
The company is helmed by Mr. Dennis Foo. He was my point of contact and I arranged everything with him.
From the onset, I enjoyed great service by Dennis. He was very professional and answered all my queries promptly and patiently over WhatsApp.
I booked a minibus, and the price was extremely reasonable. In fact, Kukup Hub’s rate was the lowest among all the private transport companies I found!
Decent Minibus
On the day of our trip, the driver arrived punctually at the arranged time. He was a nice man in his 40s who could speak conversational Chinese and Hokkien.
Along with our four pieces of luggage, the ten of us fitted comfortably into the minibus with space to spare. The bus interiors and seat fabrics looked a bit worn out, but that was not a big issue for us.
A Safe and Comfortable Ride
And so we settled in for our long six hour ride to Genting Highlands! The driver was very steady in his driving and we did not really experience any jerkiness throughout the whole journey.
And it was great that when we reached the Tuas Checkpoint, the minibus could go along the relatively vacant Bus Lane, instead of joining the congested Car Lane! This was fantastic and probably saved us at least half an hour of waiting in the jam.
After a long ride, one meal break, and several toilet breaks, we reached Genting! On the whole it was a very comfortable ride and we felt very safe throughout the journey.
On our last day in Genting Highlands, the same driver arrived punctually to pick us up. This time round, it started raining quite heavily on the way back. And because it was getting late, the road visibility was further affected.
Luckily, our driver was very steady and confident with his driving. I even fell asleep halfway because it was such a smooth ride. He definitely has good driving skills!
MPV for Smaller Groups
If you are travelling in a smaller group, you can charter the company’s MPV instead.
Conclusion
Awana Skyway in Genting
we loved the scenic views at Chin Swee Caves Temple in Genting!
We had a wonderful start and end to our family trip with Kukup Hub and Mr Dennis Foo! Our private minibus ride from Singapore to Malaysia was very comfortable, and more importantly we felt very safe on the bus. Personally, for trips to Genting Highlands, I prefer taking a minibus instead of a large bus from the big tour agencies. This is because smaller vehicles are more stable when going up the winding mountain road to Resorts World Genting. And that’s it! Thanks for reading and we hope you will find this company’s services for private transport from Singapore to Malaysia as useful as we did!
