On Lok Yun is a hidden gem in Bangkok that serves fusion American–Thai food in an old school cafeteria. Given that it is located near Grand Palace and Wat Pho, we decided to pop by On Lok Yun for a tea break after visiting the majestic Grand Palace.
On Lok Yun – 80s Style Cafeteria with Fusion American-Thai Food
Ice Tea & Milk Tea
Egg Custard Bread
French Toast
Sausage with eggs, ham and bacon
Banana Cake (off-menu item)
The cafeteria has an 80s-style decor with old school ceiling fans to keep the place cool (no pun intended). It has a simple menu with just 2 pages, which makes ordering very easy. We ordered almost everything on the menu, from the Bread with Butter, to the French Toast to the American Style Eggs with Bacon, Ham and Sausages! Milk Tea and Ice Tea was good and not overly sweet. The French toast was served hot and we really enjoyed the Egg Custard Bread too. The American style breakfast was pretty normal and a little oily.

Searching the address on Google Maps has a high chance of landing you in the wrong place. Your best bet getting to On Lok Yun is to tell your driver that you want to get to Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre (ศาลาเฉลิมกรุง). You need to show them the Thai name of the theatre. On Lok Yun is a short walk from the right side of Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre.
